Dog Behaviour Consultations in Norfolk
Our process
Step 1
Behaviour Assessment
Every consultation begins with a thorough assessment of your dog’s behaviour. Using the information you provide before and during our session, my professional observations, and our in-depth discussion, I will be able to build a clear, evidence-based understanding of your dog’s behaviour and the factors influencing it.
Step 2
Understanding the Root Cause
Together, we explore the underlying reasons for your dog’s behaviour — considering their emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing. This helps us understand why they’re behaving the way they are.
Step 3
Personalised Behaviour Plan
Based on the assessment, I create a tailored behaviour plan with clear, practical exercises designed to build your dog’s confidence and support lasting positive change.
Step 4
Positive, Lasting Change
With consistent practice and support, you’ll start to see meaningful improvements in your dog’s behaviour - leading to a happier, calmer companion and a stronger bond between you both.
Helping You Understand Your Dog with A Personalised, Evidence-Based Approach
With so much conflicting information online about dog behaviour and training, it can be hard for dog owners to know what advice will actually help and what might make things worse. As an Accredited and Certified Dog Behaviourist based in Norfolk, I take a holistic, science-led approach to behaviour modification. This means I look at your individual dog’s needs, rather than using a “one size fits all” approach.
Pet insurance cover for behaviour support
Many UK pet insurance policies will reimburse the cost of behaviour consultations when carried out by a Certified Animal Behaviourist. This can include help with issues such as:
Reactivity
Fear & Anxiety
Aggression
General behaviour concerns
To qualify, most insurers require a veterinary referral form. If you’re unsure, check your policy details and contact me for a referral form if needed. I meet the professional standards required by many UK pet insurance providers.
Where consultations take place:
In your home – ideal for dogs who feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings where the rest of the family can join in
At my private, enclosed paddock – perfect for practical training or dogs who need extra space
Online behaviour consultations – offering the same high level of care and guidance if in-person sessions aren’t suitable or you live further away
If your dog’s behaviour has recently changed or worsened, I always recommend arranging a veterinary check to rule out any underlying medical causes before starting behaviour work.
