Dog Behaviour Consultations & Training in Norfolk
Our Dog Behaviourist's Process
Step 1
Behaviour Assessment
Every consultation begins with taking the time to really understand what’s happening for you and your dog.
Using the information you share before and during our session, alongside my behavioural observations and our in-depth discussion, we begin to build a clear picture of your dog’s behaviour and the factors that may be influencing it.
Step 2
Understanding the Root Cause
Rather than simply focusing on the behaviour you’re seeing, we explore what may be driving it.
That might include your dog’s emotional wellbeing, physical comfort, previous experiences, environment, or day-to-day needs. Understanding the “why” helps us choose the most appropriate and supportive next steps.
Step 3
Personalised Behaviour Plan
Every dog is an individual, so your support plan will be tailored specifically to your dog, your circumstances, and your goals.
Together, we’ll create practical, realistic steps designed to support positive change and help your dog feel more comfortable and confident in the situations they find challenging.
Step 4
Positive, Lasting Change
Behaviour change takes time, consistency, and the right support, but with a thoughtful approach, meaningful progress is absolutely possible.
My aim is to help you better understand your dog, feel more confident in supporting them, and create lasting positive change that improves life for you both.
Helping You Understand Your Dog's Behaviour with Specialist, Personalised Support.
With so much conflicting information online about dog behaviour and training, it can be hard to know what advice feels right for your dog — or even where to begin.
As an Accredited and Certified Dog Behaviourist based in Norfolk, I offer personalised behaviour support that looks at the whole dog, not just the behaviour you’re seeing.
Every dog is an individual, so rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we work together to understand what may be contributing to your dog’s behaviour and create a practical plan that feels realistic and supportive for both of you.
Pet Insurance Cover for Behaviour Support
Many UK pet insurance policies will reimburse the cost of behaviour consultations when carried out by a Certified Animal Behaviourist.
This can include help with issues such as:
Reactivity
Fear & Anxiety
Aggression
General behaviour concerns
To qualify, most insurers require a veterinary referral form. If you’re unsure, check your policy details and contact me for a referral form if needed. I meet the professional standards required by many UK pet insurance providers.
Where Consultations Take Place:
In Your Home: Ideal for dogs who feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings, and where the wider family can be involved in the support process.
At My Private, Enclosed Paddock: Perfect for practical training or dogs who need extra space.
Online Behaviour Consultations: Offering the same high level of care and guidance if in-person sessions aren’t suitable or you live further away.
If your dog’s behaviour has recently changed or worsened, I always recommend arranging a veterinary check to rule out any underlying medical causes before starting behaviour work.
